The Turians, another race from Mass Effect, were the last Citadel race to join the Council. They follow a rigid code of honor as well as strict discipline in general. The Turians have a very avian look to them, resembling a mix between a bird and humanoid. They are stereotyped as being brave and skillful fighters, however, they are not blood thirsty. Their strict honor code forbids mistreatment of prisoners and instills a feeling of unity between the Turians, as a patrol group will never leave one of their own behind.
As mentioned above, the Turians are known for their strict discipline and hard work ethic. They are not a violent race, but when conflict is inevitable, the Turians will fight a total war, as they do not believe in the concepts of “small war” and skirmishes. In war, they use massive fleets to completely break down their opponent, such that their opponent will never again be a factor against them. This does not mean they exterminate their enemy, just that they destroy their army to the point that their opponent has no course of action other than to become a Turian province.
Turian society is based on the structure of a military hierarchy, this allows changes and advances accepted by the leadership to be quickly adopted by the rest of society with minimal resistance.
