Who would you save?

I saw this question proposed on a Mass Effect Forum and I thought it would be fun to see what the readers here think.
If, at the end of the game after the galaxy had been saved, the Normandy was going down flames, there was just one 2-man lifeboat left, and Shepard and all remaining squad mates were standing at the door, who’d get inside? Would it be Shepard plus one? Or would the skipper go down with his ship and the other people that he’d just condemned? Who’s lives would you save and who’s would you end?

Hm.. I suppose it would require the alignment of the character to be asked. Being a Specter, I believe whoever Shepard didn’t pick to die on Vermire would push him into the pod whether he wanted it or not.
In the end, I suppose if I had as a player had to make the choice, I’d have to say it would at least be Shepard - if only for the sake of the galaxy. Hero or not, he’s one of few that is trained enough to deal with the up coming problems with the Reapers. My second choice I would have to say would be one of Liara or Tali. They are both specialists in their fields: one in understanding Promethean culture which could come in handy in the battles and is a Citadel Council Race, which would perhaps have more pull on the Council and be another symbol for the people of Citadel Space to look up too. Tali on the other hand, would be a rallying factor for her race and perhaps lead to very effective countermeasures against the Geth and, thanks to Sovereign’s death, Reapers.
If neither are on board, I guess I would have to go for Wrex. The Krogan race would need someone to look too, especially after the gilded promises of Saren. An army of Krogans could turn the tide if the right events happen.
